This is a very useful plot of a modelled 3 day  forecast - one chart per 12 hour period. The low resolution makes reading a little difficult.  Note that pale blue is 0C, dark blue is -8C and purples are -10 to -20C. Notice the very cold and dry air mass over Siberia that periodically extends south east, picks up loads of moisture from the Sea of Japan and then dumps it cold and light across the Kita Alps.
