Until I get my hand on my scanner in early Jan I will reproduce my hand drawn snow profiles on my computer, in abbreviated form. It takes some time, but at least it gets the data online.

Besides speaking up when I think the risk is obviously high, I do not intend to offer many (if any) recommendations based on the data, that will be up to your own interpretation*.  Also, please see the introduction page to the SDJ Avalanche Book

* If you want an avalanche hazard advisory for the Hakuba area then try here, there is usually one published at the bottom of the page and uses a format similar to the Canadian avalanche bulletins.  I am not endorsing this advisory as being accurate or reliable, nor do I have cause to doubt its accuracy or reliability, indeed the author is a CAA Instructor.  I linked to this commercial guiding service since there is no other public avalanche bulletin available (yes, thats a shocking reality.  This is Japan, it isn't Canada or Switzerland).  I have no business association with the linked company.

Snow Profiles

Click the link to open the profile in a separate window.  Profile names are in <yymmdd location aspect> format with the most recent at the top of the list. The location tag uses the most recognisable (resort) name to define the area, rather than more specific area names that my not relate to some readers.
